Microsoft Gives Anti-Virus Another Try…
Thursday, October 1, 2009
One thing which was missing from Microsoft line of product was ANTIVIRUS. They have all the software utilities with the Operating System, be is notepad, paint, media player, image viewer etc.
Now with the Microsoft Security Essentials the line is longer and better. This new member in Microsoft’s family is not new, there was Microsoft Live One Care, which was a disaster and was not free.
I have used the Live One Care and can say it takes more computing resources. And not free is not cool. So Microsoft has given another try to be in the Antivirus market and is offering it free this time.
Microsoft Security Essentials provides real-time protection for your PC that guards against viruses, spyware, and other malicious software.
Hopefully the free Microsoft Security Essentials will fill the gap and users will find it useful. I installed it the very first day it was released, yes I installed it yesterday, oh I had also tried the beta version, I liked it so gave a try to the released version. It was just few megs and quick to install and good user interface, easy to use, runs quietly in the background. Hopefully as day pass it becomes a better antivirus and can catch all the virus in the world.
Microsoft Security Essentials, with the Windows firewall and windows defender secures our PC efficiently. Yes, the condition applies the Operating System should be up to date with all the updates.
May be few years down the line Microsoft will include this antivirus with the Operating System and there will be many more antitrust cases against it. Until then use it and All the Best against the viruses!!!
I forgot to mention this is free software is not for all, as the installation checks if run genuine windows.
